Agents say that police responded to the apartment because of a burglar alarm. Officers found the back door broken open and went inside. That's where they detected a strong odor of marijuana, and saw pot in plain view.More >>
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Valdosta Police nabbed a teenager and an adult right after an overnight break-in at a store.
Investigators say a 15-year-old boy and 22-year-old James Ivey burglarized the Max Plus Mattress and Rugs store on Ashley Street around 2 a.m. this morning.
A patrol officer spotted the teenager running from the store with merchandise after a glass window was kicked in.
Police found Ivey walking in the area a short time later.
"Once the gentleman saw the officer he took off running on foot. Several officers came to the area and were able to locate him and apprehend the suspect who turned out to be a juvenile," said Lt. Aaron Kirk, VPD.
Ivey is charged with burglary. The teen is charged with burglary and obstruction for running from police.
