ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany firefighters battled another fire that started in a kitchen late Monday.

They rushed to a home at 1506 Gillespie Avenue about 4:40pm.

The fire started in the microwave oven and led to extensive smoke damage in the house.

Firefighters have a safety warning they want us all to remember.

"Just be careful with anything you cook with. If you put anything in a microwave or a stove or in a stove, don't leave it unattended. Stay right there with it," said Battalion Chief Keith Ambrose.

There were no injuries, everyone in the home got out safely.
