ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Firefighters are investigating an arson in a vacant East Albany duplex.
They suspect a vagrant set a mattress on fire just after 11 o'clock Sunday night inside this duplex in the 2400 block of Leonard Avenue.
A neighbor spotted smoke coming from the duplex and put the fire out before firefighters arrived.
The duplex was vacant and had no power, but it appears someone was living in it.
A mattress and a packing crate were burned, and the apartment sustained minor smoke damage.
