OMEGA, GA (WALB) -
Omega Day Care Center has decided not to appeal its closure by the state, after a three year old girl was run over on a trip to a restaurant last week.
A hearing was set for 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Omega Police Department, but the appeal has been withdrawn, and no hearing will be held.
Emma Moore remains in critical condition in a Macon hospital.
The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning issued an order to close the Omega Day Care Center. The agency says this center was responsible for improperly transporting two children to a restaurant without their parents' permission.
Police say daycare worker Tracey Carroll thought the girl had gotten back in the car as they were about to leave Susie Q's restaurant in Omega.
Carroll backed over the girl, then pulled forward and ran over her again.
State officials say parents will be assisted in locating quality child care options for their children.
