ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Information from the NAACP-

The Albany Dougherty Branch of the NAACP, with the constant assistance of the Georgia State NAACP Conference, is continuing the community work of aiding persons who are in  need of our services. 

Officers were appointed last week by the state board. They are: President, Marvin L. Jones, Vice President, Kenneth Florence, Second Vice President, Diane Chattmon, Secretary, Pinky Modeste, Treasurer, James Pullum, Assistant Secretary, Veronica Thomas and Assistant Treasurer, Jacqueline Ransom.

The local leadership all hold interim positions until such time that the Georgia State Conference is able to schedule an election that will constitute the filing of all positions with person who will assume permanent status through the years of 2013-2014.

Ms. T. Green, State Conference representative and Coordinator for Districts 20 & 21, which comprises 16 counties, has taken on the additional task of evaluating and interviewing the local leadership and making recommendation to the State Conference those persons who are best fitted for the available positions.
