ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany church celebrated it's rich history and growth through music Saturday.

The Mount Zion Baptist Church on South Westover Boulevard held a music ministry extravaganza celebration.  Organizers say the event is to commemorate the history of the music ministry, which dates back to 1960.

"We appreciate all the people who have come out to support us. We ask them to continue to support our efforts as we continue to grow in grace and sing those songs of Zion," said Dr. T. Marshall Jones, the minister of music.

Several choir's performed during Saturday's event. And organizers invite folks to come out every Sunday at 10am enjoy the inspirational spirit through music.
