CAIRO, GA (WALB) -
A south Georgia judge accepts a 60-day unpaid suspension for misconduct.
After an ethics trial Wednesday, Grady County State Court Judge Bill Bass, Senior agreed to the suspension and probation and agreed not to seek re-election.
When a defendant didn't show up for trial in 2009, Bass tried an empty courtroom chair and convicted the guy. Officials say he also talked about his sex life and was vindictive toward people who didn't support his re-election campaign.
Bass says people may have misinterpreted his sense of humor.
