ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A Direct TV installer was accused of stealing thousands of dollars of jewelry from a home where he was installing a system.

The homeowners reported six rings, valued at over $4,000 went missing. Thanks to the work of officers and pawn shops, those rings are being returned to their rightful owner.

Today investigators from Colquitt County stopped by a pawn shop on Slappey Blvd. to pick up the last of the stolen jewelry they believe the suspect pawned.

This morning, workers at C & P pawn shop got an unexpected visit. Two investigators with the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office stopped by the Albany pawn shop not to buy property, but to get stolen property back.

Officers say Worth County resident Chad Holt took jewelry from a home in Funston while he was installing a Direct TV system, and sold the jewelry to pawn shops in Worth and Dougherty County.

"The homeowner suspected the direct TV installer the entire time there was jewelry missing and didn't suspect any family members," said Colquitt Co. Investigator David Corona.

After he finished the installation and left, home owners noticed several valuable rings were missing from a jewelry box in their bedroom.

"He was at the home two to three days installing the system and he pawned the items shortly after," Corona said.

Officers say Holt pawned a two carat diamond wedding ring, and blue sapphire gold a ring, a gold pinkie ring and two class rings. But thanks to the help of multiple agencies and the cooperation of several pawn shops..officers recovered just about all the stolen jewelry.

They picked up a ring sold for $75 at C & P, Pawn. Earlier, they recovered another ring at Quick Cash Title and Pawn.  In Sylvester, they recovered more at K & L Gold Buyers.

Holt turned himself in and now faces felony charges.

Officers say serves as a warning to keep a close eye on anyone who comes into your home. Officers say thanks to the cooperation of all of the pawn shops they won't face any charges in this case.

The owners and They say they plan to report the installer to Direct Tv. Holt was released from jail on a $6,000 bond.
