ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Phoebe Putney Memorial hospital has received a new stamp of approval. The hospital has received accreditation from DNV Healthcare.

Surveyors visit Phoebe annually, instead of the usual, every three years.

"It holds us, internally more accountable for making sure that we have processes in place so that it's a daily process, rather than, well we got done, we got three years now until they come back," said Douglas Patten, M.D., Senior V.P. Medical Affairs.

This is the first time the hospital has been accredited by DNV Healthcare.
