THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -
A new animal cruelty awareness group is shedding light on a growing problem in south Georgia.
Citizens Focused On Animal Cruelty will hold their third meeting Tuesday evening in Thomasville.
The group is focusing on legislation, education, and fundraisers.
Thanks to one donor, the group now has resources to reward those who speak out against animal cruelty.
"We were donated $5,000 from a very generous and kind person. This money will go towards reward money for arrests and conviction of animal cruelty and neglect," said Animal Control Director Pat Smith.
Tuesday's meeting begins at 6:30 at the Thomas County Emergency Services Center.
