ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

After months of anticipation Olive Garden is officially open in Tifton. The first customer showed up at 8:00AM, and by ten clock, nearly 75 people were lined up. They expect to serve close to 1,000 customers by the end of the day.

Not only does it give folks in Tift County another dining option, but the restaurant created dozens of jobs.

Managers hope the visible location along interstate 75 will attract a lot of out of towners too.

"Location is very critical and I think the spot that we are in has the potential to target not only the local people but those traveling along Interstate 75, so we expect to do really, really good," said Ana Isaza Maag, Olive Garden General Manager.

They are still looking to hire additional employees.
