ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Before they take off on that grueling run on Saturday, it's important for marathoners to fill up their tanks with a balanced meal.

Once many runners completed the registration process at the Hilton Garden Inn, they strolled over to the ballroom to enjoy a carb-heavy meal.

Runners also heard some tips from experts about how to make tomorrow's run their best.

"It's a combination of everything, the hotel is a convenient location, the expo is going on right next door, they have to pick up their paper work next door anyway. The food is really good, I think it's a great value for runners," said guest speaker and owner of MarathonPacing.com Jim Crist.

The pre-marathon dinner is an annual event sponsored by AT&T.
