ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A prominent Albany businessman let others poke a little fun at him on Friday to help South Georgia college students.

Flint River Services CEO Lem Griffin, a generous donor to Albany Technical College was roasted at an annual dinner on campus.

The event raises scholarship money for the Albany Tech foundation. The school's President says it's all good fun for a great cause.

"it's an opportunity to tell stories about someone in the community. It's a reason for others to come out to dinner for the event and raise some money for our foundation," said Dr. Anthony Parker the President of Albany Tech.

The Albany Tech Foundation's next major fundraiser will be a golf tournament in October.
