ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

More than two dozen sheriffs from all over Georgia met in Ben Hill County today for the Fellowship of Christian's Sheriffs Meeting.

Sheriff Bobby McLemore of Ben Hill hosted the event.

He says it's the first time the group met in South Georgia.

The sheriff's may work far away from each another... but they share a common role and a strong faith in God.

"The sheriff is a role model most people look up to a person of integrity, trust and honor; and that's what makes us great sheriffs, having god in our lives," McLemore said.

The sheriff says he hopes to host many more Fellowship of Christian Sheriffs meetings in the future.
