VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

All the flooding has shut down multiple roads in Lowndes County. Today, officials closed a portion of usually busy Gornto Road.

Sugar Creek rose too high to keep the bridge open.

The waters did flood into Traditions Flooring and could possibly flood Creekside Tavern Restaurant and Only Options Boutique.

Roads in the county that remain closed are Shiloh Road, Clyattville Nankin Road, and Morven Road.

"Currently the water along Sugar Creek is rising and as a precautionary measure we decided this morning to go ahead and shut down between Sherwood and Jerry Jones, to keep motorists safe," said Jim Martinez, City Engineering Dept.

Officials hope to open up Gornto Road tomorrow morning.
