TIFT CO., GA (WALB) -

Professional Golfers from all over the world are in Tifton this week as they gear up for the Springhill Classic.

168 golfers will tee off Thursday for the "Springhill Classic".

Today, local amateurs joined NGA professionals on the course for a Pro-Am competition.

Rain cut last weeks event in Tallahassee short, but aside from a soggy course..things look promising for this week.

"Some of the smaller towns we get a bigger crowd, so we are kind of a big fish in a little pond so to speak it brings in more excitement and we hope to have as many people from the Tifton area come out and watch these guys play," Said Tour Director Jeff Harlow.

The winner takes home $28,000. The "Springhill Classic" starts Thursday and will run through Sunday, March 3.  Tee times will start at 7:30 a.m. on each of those days.
