ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Second Harvest of South Georgia will soon feed a lot more hungry children.

They dedicated their new community kitchen Tuesday.

The Arby's Foundation Community Kitchen will be able to feed three thousand children a day. Arby's Restaurant group paid 100 thousand dollars toward the 250 thousand dollar project. Right now, the food bank feeds 450 children an after school meal per day using an area church's kitchen. They have a 500 child waiting list.

"We are committed to ending childhood hunger," said Arby's Foundation Community Impact Manager Emily Crawford.  "And since we are a Georgia based company, we are particularly interested in the issue of childhood hunger here."

Arby's Foundation is donating three million dollars over three years to fight childhood hunger. Second harvest serves thirty counties in Southwest Georgia. The new kitchen will come on line on March first.
