ATLANTA (AP) - Emergency managers reported that several dirt roads were becoming impassable in parts of central and southern Georgia, as heavy rain continued to fall Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service expects the Flint River to crest at Albany at 21.3 feet on Thursday night. Minor flooding happens at 26 feet, moderate at 31 feet, and major at 42 feet.
Reports to the National Weather Service indicated that flooding would likely affect school bus travel in parts of the state on Tuesday morning as water ponded on roads. The weather service said a flood warning covering much of central and southern Georgia would continue until Tuesday afternoon.
High winds combined with saturated ground also threatened to topple trees in central and northern Georgia.
The weather service issued a high wind advisory through Tuesday afternoon. It covered several cities, including Atlanta, Columbus, Dublin, Griffin, Macon, Milledgeville, Americus and Vidalia.
Egg and Butter Road North is closed in Thomas Co.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee says that The squall line should be completely east of the Southwest Georgia area before noon. The outlook has these areas in a slight risk for severe storms.
After a mild afternoon in the 70s, cooler and drier air will arrive for Tuesday night through Wednesday night. Look for lows in the lower to mid 40s Tuesday night and upper 30s to lower 40s the following night.
Daytime highs on Wednesday will be in the upper 60s north of a Tallahassee and Valdosta line and in the lower 70s to the southeast.
