WORTH CO., GA (WALB) -

Nearly 30 roads remained closed in Worth County after the past couple of days of heavy rain.

This has prompted officials to close school, Monday, in Worth County.

Jerry Young Road in Worth County is one of 28 roads closed in the county due to wash outs.

A new drain pipe is currently being replaced on this road.  We spoke with one resident who lives on Jerry Young Road and he says it's always a headache when heavy rain comes.

"It's very frustrating because we have to travel five extra miles to go to town from where we're at now, to get to Ashburn," said Steve Wilson.

As a result of road closures in Worth County, Worth County Schools will not be in session Monday for safety concerns of students.

Faculty and staff should report to work if possible. School is expected to return to normal on Tuesday.
