ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The Albany Symphony Orchestra put on a special show Saturday night with a featured guest in honor of black history month.
Violinist Gareth Johnson took center stage with the Albany Symphony Orchestra tonight. The concert also included works by African American composers to celebrate black history month.
"There are a number of very prominent classical musicians that are African American that don't get recognized. And this is very much a part of our community's heritage," said Jim Bullion, the Albany Symphony Association President.
The next show is Sunday, March 3rd at the Albany Museum of Art.
