Albany, GA  - Public works crews are busy handing out sand bags as rain continues to fall in Albany.

There is a 20 bag per household limit.

The city prepared 2,500 bags last night and put them under the bridge on Hodges Avenue for people to pick up.

People who live in the county can pick up sandbags at County Public Works at 2108 Habersham Road.

Catastrophic flooding is not predicted for South Georgia, but many ditches and ponds are full and overflowing.

Four inches of rain has fallen so far in Dawson and the rain continues.

Many roads have standing puddles of water and drivers should use caution.

Albany Public Works is pumping water from sewer drains to clear flooded Jefferson Street.

South Georgia remains under a flood watch through the evening.
