
Albany, GA - A man wanted for murder in Florida is in the Dougherty County jail.
Twenty-seven year old James Russell was arrested at Motel Six in East Albany around 9:30 last night.
That's where U.S. Marshals tracked him and contacted Albany police for assistance.
Investigators from Jacksonville, Florida drove to Albany and questioned him this morning.
Russell made a first appearance in court at the Dougherty County jail on charges that arose from his arrest by the gang unit.
He's charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Identity Theft.
In Florida, he's wanted for a November murder. Police say he shot and killed 36-year-old Philippe Foster during an argument.
An extradition hearing will be held before Russell will be returned to Florida.
