Albany, GA -   Much of the WALB viewing area is under a flash flood watch, as more heavy rain moves in from the Southwest.

Our area could get three to four inches of rain by tomorrow, and more heavy rain is predicted for Monday.

Public safety officials advise you to stay off the roads if possible, as many streets and roads have standing water.

If you hit water while driving, don't brake, just take your foot off the accelerator.

If you approach an area of road that is covered in water, turn around and do not attempt to drive through it.

Never use your cruise control when driving in rain, and always use your headlights.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Ochlocknee River in Thomas County beginning Monday morning.

At 8:45 AM Saturday, the river stage was 10.4 feet.  Flood stage is 15 feet and the river is expected to crest at 15.9 feet Wednesday evening.

Minor flooding is forecast.  River access roads and lowlands along the river will be flooded.

North Magnolia Street at West Broad Avenue in Albany is closed because a motorist crashed into a utility box.

Barricades and detour signs are in place and drivers should avoid the area.

WALB News 10 is tracking the weather and will keep  you updated.
