River flooding is the main concern around Valdosta.
Emergency officials warn people living near the Withlacoochee, Little, and Alapaha Rivers in Lowndes County to start preparing for possible flooding.
The Lowndes County Emergency Director says next week will be the area's best chance of seeing flooding from the rivers.
"Depending on how much rain and how much it falls to the north of us, once that rain falls and it starts moving downstream, we can expert to see a rise in our rivers. So the amount of rain they get is going to determine how much our rivers rise," said Emergency Management Director, Ashley Tye.
