New show comes to the Albany Planetarium

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The folks at Albany's Weatherbee Planetarium say their new show will leave you in awe.

The show called Astronomyths was produced in Greece and offers a view of the stars and stories about how they were named.

The 24 minute show is a full-dome digital production.

Thronateeska Heritage Center officials say it's something the whole family can enjoy.

"We've been looking around trying to find a show that would fit our demographic best and this one we think meets those needs because it talks about the stars, constellations and those pictures that people imagine," said Program Coordinator Allison Young.

Astronomyths will begin airing at 2:00 pm Friday and will be shown every Thursday-Saturday at 2:00.

Tickets are $3.50 per person.  Thronateeska members, children under 3 and Darton State College students get in free.
