LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Lee County Commissioners interviewed the first candidate for interim County Administrator, Tuesday afternoon.

They have interviews scheduled with three other candidates.

Current County Administrator Tony Massey turned in his resignation last week to take a city manager job in Tennessee.

Commission Chairman Rick Muggridge is pleased with the candidates they're considering.

"We're anxious but not in a hurry. We want to make the right decision and we're thrilled with the quality of candidates that we have," said Muggridge.

Commissioners hope to have an interim administrator in place when Massey leaves on March 15th, then they'll begin a longer search for a permanent county administrator.
