ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany city commissioners are trying to figure out how they're going to fund the new transportation hub.

Commissioners have already received public input about the four possible locations.

They are the current bus station in the Harlem district, the old Carmike Theater, the old China Palace on Oglethorpe, and the site of the former Heritage House Hotel.

The cost ranges from $8.9 million to just over $11 million.

"The question now becomes, do we listen to what the people want at the tune of having to come up with millions of dollars? And right now we don't have the millions of dollars. So it's just going to be a hard, hard decision," said Dorothy Hubbard, the mayor of Albany.

Commissioners are hoping to receive $6 million in federal funding, but only $3.5 of that is guaranteed.

They're now requesting to have scaled back versions of the hub presented to them when they revisit the issue next month.
