In the past week there have two murder suicides and one attempted murder suicide in South Georgia. Two of those incidents are domestic related.
Last week, Fitzgerald Police believe 27-year old Jamaal Whipple took his own life after shooting and killing his wife, 24 year-old Courtney Whipple.
Psychologist Dr. Cheryl Kaiser says domestic violence is especially hard for outsiders to detect.
"With domestic violence, the two people who really usually know what's going on are the perpetrator and the victim. And other people are not necessarily aware at all that anything is happening because a lot of times, especially a domestic violence perpetrator can be very adept at covering things up," said Kaiser.
Kaiser says you should not try to intervene if you witness any type of violent situation. Instead, you should call 911.
