LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A Lowndes County woman is charged with a DUI after state troopers say she blew through a stop sign and hit a car with three passengers inside.

Troopers say 28-year-old Jennifer Beck was drunk when she ran through this stop sign at Cat Creek road and Highway 122 about 5:30 last night. She hit the passengers side of the vehicle and 35-year-old Johnny Roe was partially ejected. The car flipped once and landed in a ditch.

Officials say all four people were taken to South Georgia Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

"We take a real firm approach to DUI that's part of the causing factor in this crash, and of course the other thing we try to stress here is wear your seat belts and wear them properly," said Sgt. Carl Taylor, GSP.

Beck is still recovering at the hospital and will be booked in the Lowndes County Jail when she's released.
