Saturday morning Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful planted trees in honor of the city's Arbor Day.
Volunteers from Turner Job Corps and Key Club members came out to the First Tee of Albany behind the Civic Center to plant 24 trees.
City Commissioner Christopher Pike presented a proclamation to Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful as part of the city's two part Arbor Day celebration.
"The thing about planting trees is they look nice when they go in but really the benefits will out live me 50 to 70 years at least so it's for future generations as well," says City Arborist Ili Si Malone.
Friday the city's Public Works planted 10 trees that were too big for volunteers to plant Saturday.
City Arborist says trees will last for generations to come
