ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
A couple of Marines got a warm welcome at Southwest Georgia Regional Airport as they returned from a nearly year-long deployment to Afghanistan, Friday night.
Master Sergeant Alfred Dixon spent 11 months overseas.
He told us he's excited to be back in the States and says he missed the simple things of home.
"Just the convenience of everyday things we can take advantage of and the things we take for granted. For one, like the bathrooms, being able to make a phone call, being able to send a text, being able to see your family... Small stuff," said Dixon.
While overseas, the Marines inspected and repaired trucks used in combat and other government vehicles.
