Carnival's CEO personally apologized to passengers Thursday night on the Triumph.
Darton State College Economics professor Aaron Johnson says Carnival's PR team needs to keep up that PR offensive to avoid a big hit to its bottom line.
He says Carnival could lose business if they don't win over the public by cleaning up their image.
"It can be significant. A reputation risk can really damage a company, depending on the circumstance it can last years," said Johnson.
Currently, Carnival is offering passengers stranded on that ship a refund, a free cruise and $500.
