WASHINGTON, DC -
Another Albany community servant is still in Washington, Friday, after President Obama presented her with one of the nation's highest civilian honors.
At a White House ceremony, Pamela Green Jackson accepted the Presidential Citizens Medal for her outstanding community service.
Jackson is the founder and CEO of Youth Becoming Healthy, a non-profit group that fights childhood obesity.
She also works at the Marine Base.
She says this was an incredible day she'll never forget.
"It was absolutely breathtaking. To stand on the stage next to the president of the United States and to be in such great company of other people doing things in their community was definitely amazing," said Jackson.
Jackson founded the group in memory of her brother who passed away 9-years ago this week.
