ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A house fire broke out late last night in Dougherty County.  Fire fighters responded to a call at 529 Honeysuckle Drive just after 11 PM.

The lone resident of the house escaped the fire with no injuries. Fire officials still don't know what caused the blaze but tell us the kitchen and laundry room sustained the most fire damage.

"The fire started on the first floor, apparently somewhere in or around the laundry room, at this point we are trying to figure out the exact cause and we are trying to overhaul and make sure we got everything out," says Battalion Chief Kelly Harcrow, Albany Fire Department.

The rest of the house, including the attic sustained heat and smoke damage. Fire officials say, thankfully, it was not a complete loss.

The fire remains under investigation but officials believe it was accidental.
