ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

One of Albany's biggest annual events is coming up in a couple of weeks, and organizers need your help to make it a success.

Friday is the deadline to volunteer for the Albany Marathon, though organizers will continue to accept volunteer applications for another week. The race is Saturday March 2nd, and it takes hundreds of volunteers to pull it off.

Race organizer and Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau Manager Rashelle Beasley said, "There is no such thing as too many volunteers, and we're accepting volunteers for Friday night registration on up to road marshals on Saturday as well as finish line workers. There's always a place for somebody."

If you volunteer, you get a t-shirt and free admission to the Mardi Gras street party that Saturday.
