Authorities are searching for a truck driver who hit three people on a highway in Terrell County Thursday night, killing two of them and seriously injuring the third.

The victims' names haven't been released, but we know a 24 year-old woman and her 4 year-old daughter were killed. A man was injured and was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

They were walking across Highway 520 on the north edge of Dawson a little before 8:30 when a tractor trailer hit them. Officers found the truck not far away, but the driver wasn't there.

State troopers say the driver is a black man and was wearing a UPS racing style jacket. They believe he left the scene on foot.

The highway was shut down for a while.

If you have any information on the driver, you can call Georgia State Patrol at *GSP on your mobile phone or Dawson Police at 995-4414.
