THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -
Broken windows and stolen property have become a daily occurrence in Thomasville.
The city continues to deal with a rash of burglaries. One small business owner is now dealing with his third break in, in six months.
When the owner of Lanter Communications opened his business, it was clear he had been a victim of a crime, again.
"They were advised by an employee there, that when he arrived at work that morning, he entered the business and noticed that there was no power. He also detected at that time that there were several cell phones missing from a display case," said Lt. Eric Hampton.
Police say $2,000 worth of cell phones were stolen from the business.
"We are trying to locate those so we if we are asking anyone who may see someone trying to sell cell phones or trying to give them away. Any information that someone may have about this crime we ask that they give us a call," said Lt. Eric Hampton.
In September, Thomasville Police charged 47-year old Ray Franklin with taking close to $10,000 worth of computers, radios, and cell phones from the communications store.
Investigators say they do not think he is connected to this most recent break in.
This third Lanter incident is one of dozens of recent unsolved burglaries still on the books here in Thomasville.
"If you're not at home, make sure your neighbors are watching out for your residence. Or if you're running a business, make sure your business is well secure, well lit, front and back so the officers can see as they are riding by," said Hampton.
After the previous two incidents, investigators were able to recover some, but not all of the stolen property.
Franklin was recently indicted on two counts of burglary and remains in the Thomas County Jail. Police don't have any suspects in the most recent burglary.
