VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
The Emergency Preparedness Office with South Health District conducted a drill Wednesday morning of an active shooter scenario.
"The drill is going to take place at our District Office on Savannah Avenue," said Training Coordinator Al Goosby. "We educated our staff on what to do in this situation a few weeks ago so this will be a test to see how well they will do in a staged event."
The drill was set for 9:00 a.m. at the District and took about 30 minutes.
"Our EP team is working with outside agencies on this event to make it seem as real as possible," said Public Information Officer Courtney Sheeley. "Anyone that would like to take pictures or video and hold an interview is welcome to attend."
