SMITHVILLE, GA -

Just off the railroad tracks in Smithville stands an empty home that 5 years ago last month was the setting of a brutal murder. 82-year-old AJ Mosley was found stabbed multiple times.

"I can't even go in the house. It's the devastation and the horror of the way he was killed. The way someone brutally took his life in it," said Sylvia Mosley.

She says January 15, 2008, the day her father's body was found, feels like yesterday. And since then his killer has remained a free man.

"We know that the person who did this, or the people that know who did this, they're very close," she said.

"We're pretty sure whoever did it, he knew them because he would have had to let them in," said GBI Agent Brian Smith.

He has been on the case since day one. Over the years evidence has gathered along with persons of interests.

"Everything that we have learned has just kept coming back to this area," said Smith.

But those who know who did it aren't talking.

"There are a number of people very close to here that have significant details and information about this case," said Smith.

The Mosley family has put up a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. For his daughters, an arrest in this case won't bring back their dad, but it will provide closure.

"All we can do is ask for them to have compassion for us as his children and feel some of the pain and suffering that we've gone through with all this craziness," said Sylvia.

"This family deserves closure because their father didn't deserve this, He didn't at all," said Smith.

The details, however small, could bring this cold case to a close and justice a half-decade in the making.
