THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -
A Colquitt County escapee is in a Florida jail after being captured in Tallahassee.
Colquitt County Sheriff's investigators say 32 year-old Demetrius Walden was captured Tuesday afternoon with help from the Leon County Sheriff's Office and the Thomasville Police Department.
Walden escaped Monday afternoon while he was on work detail. Leon County sheriff's officials say Walden was captured near an apartment building after a K-9 helped track him.
Walden was serving time for probation violation and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He's now charged with escaping from a detention facility.
Walden is in the Leon County Jail and will appear before a judge Wednesday morning.
