THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A two-car crash on Highway 319 and the 84 Bypass in Thomas County left 71-year-old Lonnie Dunbar dead Tuesday morning.

The driver, 80-year-old Lanier Hughes, and the backseat passenger 81-year old Clara Dunbar, remain in critical condition at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

They are all from Dooly County. Lonnie and Clara were married.

GSP troopers say around 7:40 this morning, the Chevy Impala driven by Hughes, was heading west on the Bypass.

The driver of the Impala failed to yield for oncoming traffic while making a left turn onto 319. That's when a pick up truck struck the passenger side of the Impala.

Troopers say there were three people in the car and two in the truck, and those in the pick up suffered minor injuries.
