ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Dougherty County School board will likely vote sometime next month on whether to close some schools.

Interim superintendent Dr. David Mosely says the board and consultants are going back over all the possible school closure options as they look to improve the system and save money.

At two public hearings last week, people voiced their concerns over a plan to close Sylvester Road Elementary and Dougherty Middle and repurpose Magnolia Elementary.

"Even though people probably won't agree with the decision, whatever it might be, there was a trust level with the information presented and they were told the truth," said Dr. Mosely.

Next Thursday, the board will hold an information session where they will discuss their options.

The public is invited to attend the session but won't be allowed to address the board.
