VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

After six months of construction, traffic is about to flow through a new intersection near I-75 in Valdosta.

It will help ease congestion on St. Augustine Road. The city just completed a $1.3 million intersection called the Twin Street Improvement Project.

The city engineer says it was dangerous for drivers getting in and out of the Starbucks and other restaurants on St. Augustine Road. The traffic signal will begin directing traffic tomorrow.

"The signal here was needed pretty badly, again to allow not only the residents here along Twin Street and those motorists to access St. Augustine, but also the businesses," said Jim Martinez, Project Manager.

The traffic signal will go live around 9 a.m. tomorrow.
