A late night accident that knocked power lines down into the road has 300 Gilmer Road shut down at Delmar Street.

The wreck happened around 3 a.m., Monday. All the wreckage has been cleared, but the power lines are still in the roadway and crews are working to get them removed.

Southbound traffic is being re-routed off onto Delmar Street, then down Sylvia Street to Crystal Street and back to Gilmer Road at that point. Northbound traffic rerouted to Crystal then back to Gilmer Rd. at Delmar Street.

Commuters traveling between Upshur County and Longview should expect delays or use an alternate route to avoid this area.

There is no word on injuries in this accident.
