RANDOLPH CO., GA (WALB) -
Work is now underway on a new jail in Randolph County. It was one of Sheriff Gary Yochum's dreams before he died.
The new jail will be a big improvement over the current one. It will have 130 beds and will be equipped will all new technology.
"The new one is going to be like a dream, basically everything is going to be monitored, and everything is going to be on a computer, all the cell doors, and stuff like that," says Eddie Fairbanks, Interim Sheriff.
The new jail will have enough room to hold overflow inmates from other counties which will bring in money for Randolph County.
