THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -
The City of Roses is switching to camellias Saturday for an annual flower show and competition.
The Thomasville Camellia Show is open to anyone who wants to enter their floral combinations or anyone who just wants to enjoy the show.
Garden Club Members hope the event will spark interest in the historical significance of the town's camellias.
"We have about 70 different varieties that were propagated right here in our community and we're trying to preserve those. We're trying to find whose gardens they are in so we can preserve them for history," said Co-Chair Jane Delarber.
Entries will be accepted from 7:30 to 10:30 Saturday morning at the Garden Center.
