ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Another Public Hearing concerning proposed school closures is happening in the City-County Government Building.

The change of venue was made to accommodate citizen attendance, after an overflow crowd at the first meeting.

Declining enrollments and tight budgets are causing the Dougherty County School Board to look at closing and consolidating some schools, mainly in East Albany.

Last week, parents and people who live near those schools encouraged board members to slow down the process. And the consultant who came up with the proposal now says he'll look for other options.

Stephanie Springer is covering the meeting, and will have a full report later today.
