ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Local and state economic development leaders welcomed business leaders from around the country to Albany for the annual Georgia Quail Hunt, Wednesday.
Wednesday's reception at Wynfield Plantation kicked off the 25th annual event.
State Chamber and Economic Development Commission leaders say the event shows prospective job creators the best Georgia has to offer.
"It brings awareness to a great part of the state of Georgia, that is Southwest Georgia. And not just Southwest Georgia, It shows the whole state. The hospitality of the state and what we have to offer," said Georgia Economic Development Commissioner Chris Commiskey.
"With this type of event, it goes a long way for a CEO to say, 'I can see myself here. I can see this being a part of my life' and that's a lot of what we're selling, the lifestyle of Georgia," said Georgia Chamber President and CEO Chris Clark.
Over the years, Hunt guests have invested $2.6-billion and created more than 84,000 jobs in Georgia.
