Topping off ceremony for VSU Health Science Building

A milestone today on construction of the new Valdosta State University Health Sciences and Business Administration Building.

Officials from VSU and South Georgia Medical Center came together for a topping off ceremony.

People were invited to sign the final steel beam before crews placed it on top of the building.

The $32 million building is expected to open this time next year.

"Randy Sauls and your entire team from South Georgia Medical Center you are just absolutely incredible partners we couldn't have begun to imagine this project without you," said Dr. Bill McKinney, VSU President.

The building will house six Health Sciences programs, including nursing and athletic training.
