LEE COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

As Congress works on bills that would restrict gun rights, state lawmakers hope to expand gun rights.

Right now, hunters can't use silencers.

Senate Bill 93 would allow them to use sound suppressors.

One of the provisions in Senate Bill 101 would allow public housing tenants to have guns on their property.

Gun rights advocate Steven Drew supports both bills.

"Both of these bills offer a lot of benefits for the citizens of Georgia, both as far as controlling feral game animal populations and protecting and restoring the rights of citizens who live in public housing that may be a victim of crime," said Drew.

Senate Bill 101 would also allow people who have gun carry licenses in other states to carry their firearms in Georgia and it would remove all restrictions on firearms dealers in the state.
